Sonja Rohde will be the first german woman to experience zero gravity in space with virgin galactic. Sonja Rohde wears the Space Voyager Edition model, a gift from Silhouette to future space tourists.
The adventurous lady from Hagen met the British multibillionaire Sir Richard Branson during a safari. The founder of the space program Virgin Galactic gives private individuals the opportunity to travel into space for 200,000 dollars. Sonja Rhode did not hesitate a moment when offered the chance to be one of the first to take part in this futuristic project. She has done multiple forms of flight training since then. “There is nothing comparable on earth,” she describes her first experience with zero gravity,
“Happiness fills your head and you feel extremely free!” For her trip, Sonja Rohde was given a pair of the sun glasses that Silhouette developed in cooperation with NASA for special space performance. The dark lenses of the Titan Minimal Art model are coated with a hair-thin gold flash and protect the eyes against UV and infrared rays. Sonja Rohde can’t wait for her first space mission to start: “This will be the trip of my life!”
