The film festival Crossing Europe is held April 24-29, 2012 in Linz and shows foresight in presenting 150 excellent, exquisite movies, documentations and short films from 43 countries. Numerous film highlights from the last festival season (including A-list festivals such as the Berlinale, Cannes, Locarno, Venice or San Sebastian) can be seen alongside local film creations. For a week the European film world will stop at Linz and attract international as well as local film fans with socio-political auteur cinema.
Ten internationally awarded movies will be competing for the New Vision Award inspired by Silhouette. These films will have their Austrian premiere at the festival. An international jury – including the winner of the New Vision Award 2011, Oleg Novkovic – will select the winner who will first learn of this during the awards presentation on April 28.
